This is the first in a series of free, in-person Hologram workshops in Berlin. We will address fears and concerns for the coming winter.

Everyone is talking about it, but how do the long and short term changes we are going through affect us individually and as a community? Are you wondering about how the Berlin community and the German state will handle the global economic, social and environmental crisis? Are you a little scared? In October’s workshop we want to use The Hologram protocol to be vulnerable and supported while discussing the fears, struggles and hardships coming this winter.

This is the first in a series of in-person Hologram workshops in Berlin that support new and experienced practitioners of the Hologram to use the peer to peer health protocol to mobilize and activate the community in moments of crisis. Each workshop has a specific tension as its theme. For the first part of the series we will work with our fears of the winter.

I’m afraid of isolation. I’m afraid of being one of many people left in the cold. I’m afraid of the lack of sun. I’m afraid I won’t be able to pay rent. I’m afraid of another wave of the pandemic. I’m afraid of war. I’m afraid of my own moods. I’m afraid of massive societal shifts. I am afraid of losing access to resources I rely on. I’m afraid of feeling helpless. I’m afraid it’s going to be very hard if I am alone through all of this.

What is The Hologram?

The Hologram is a viral distribution system for non-expert healthcare, practiced from couches around the world. It is an idea, a practice, an experiment designed by a group of artists and activists, and a growing community. In this project, the person who articulates their needs and asks for support is our teacher.

About the workshop

The workshop will take place in a cozy top secret location that we will announce upon registration and will be held in easy English (with possibilities of translation into German, French and Italian). If you speak other languages or have other accessibility needs, be sure to let us know in the registration form.

Over the duration of three hours we will have time to softly arrive in the space together (a space that we wish to be a brave one*) and introduce each other. There will be a presentation about The Hologram before trying it out in small groups. To finish we will introduce what we call the Community of Practice (in person and online), and what else is happening with The Hologram in Berlin.

And ‘cause winter is coming and we need to warm up, there will be food and hot drinks after the workshop. You’re invited!
